Words and Music by Art Thomas
I deserved to die, but Jesus gave His life;
It's no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me.
In my darkest valley, I see the light upon the hill;
It's the cross of Jesus providing for me still!
The world was darkened as He hung upon the tree;
With three nails He built a life for me!
How can someone love me like He loved me that day?
How could this man claim that He's paving the way?
Just a humble carpenter who made the blind to see--
With three nails He built a life for me!
I know the blood and water flowed out for my soul;
In the hands of man His body broke to make me whole!
His body laid behind the stone for three days;
Then heaven's glory blasted forth from the grave!
I serve a RISEN Savior!
My Lord has conquered the grave!
My home's in Heaven, for I know I'm saved!
In just three days with three silver nails,
My Jesus proved how His love never fails.
His body broken, His blood beneath the cross;
With three nails He paid the greatest cost.
He's the humble carpenter who made the blind to see;
With three nails He built a life for me!
