I have some 500 Christian books in my personal library, and most of them were a waste of time. I want to save you from wasting your own time, and help you find books that will truly build your faith and relationship with God.
The following books are specifically chosen for their effectiveness in revealing true Christianity, increasing faith, and bringing people into a deeper relationship with God.

The Heavenly Man - By Paul HattawayThis remarkable story of Chinese "Brother Yun" has had a profound impact on me and several people in my small group. Translated and penned by Paul Hattaway, it is written from the perspective of Yun, who has been imprisoned and tortured for his faith in Jesus Christ. But his life is not one of defeat--read about some of the countless miracles and supernatural experiences that have filled his life in the midst of such great persecution. Yun also contrasts the underground Chinese Church with the modern American Church and has some profound points to share. This is a "MUST READ" and I just had to list it as my first recommendation to you. |

When Heaven Invades Earth - By Bill JohnsonI've always been a supporter of those who are actually practicing the message they preach. Bill Johnson's church regularly encounters miracles, supernatural physical healings, and other signs of the the Holy Spirit's presence in the name of Jesus Christ; and this book will open your eyes to the Truth in the Bible that makes it all a reality. The premise of the book is centered on the Lord's Prayer: "Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." What happens when God answers this prayer? What happens when Heaven invades earth? Shortly after reading this book, I found that God had given me the faith to work miracles too. That's not to toot my horn or Brother Johnson's; it simply highlights God's hand in what's written within. |

Mega Shift - By James RutzIf you're the least bit religious, this book will probably make your stomach turn. But if you're looking for clear proof that God is moving powerfully and miraculously today apart from institutionalized Christianity, this text is for you. You'll discover rather quickly that Rutz is not "anti-Church." On the contrary, he is dramatically PRO-Church. As a result, his writings are focused on what the Church should look like and subsequently bring to light the harsh reality of errors in the ways we practice Christianity in the United States. I have to admit that I don't subscribe wholeheartedly to everything Rutz says in this book, but the challenging message is one we must all contemplate and debate if the American Church is to progress in Christ. |

The Hidden Power of Prayer and Fasting - By Mahesh ChavdaI have yet to find a more impacting book on the topic of fasting than this text by Chavda. Every time I read this book, I find a renewed passion for seeking God through prayer and fasting--and the results are always powerful. It's a quick read, but the testimonies, scriptures, and teachings shared are more than enough to contemplate and put into practice.
